Heads-up, Neopolis! As part of the relief effort, I'm putting together a team to help rebuild some of the more devastated areas in town, and if anyone is interested we would love to have you onboard! Organizing ourselves to focus our efforts on specific targets will really help to get a lot done a lot quicker. We might even try to come up with some clever name for our team, if someone wants to step forward and do that.
Now, I know a lot of your are still recovering yourselves, but if you have the time and strength to help out, I'm sure you'll find lending a helping hand to be very rewarding! |

| Justice Has a Few Concerns |

Students in Harnessing Latent Skills, or anyone else who might find all this soul business interesting:
How does this relate to what we've been talking about in class? If you sell, trade, or modify your soul in any way in order to gain certain things, how does that help you to hone your self-esteem as a tool in any way? Can you ever learn to harness latent skills, or any skills at all, for that matter, if you don't believe in yourself enough to hold onto your very soul? Please take this opportunity to discuss! I think it's healthy for us to think about these kinds of issues from every angle. And PLEASE DON'T HESITATE to get in touch with me if you feel like you need someone to talk to about all this.
I would also like to take a moment to remind students in my class of the topics covered in our fourth and final unit:
Having completed the first three units of the course, students will now be expected to help one another overcome personal and social obstacles. Unlike many other classes, in which students are asked to combat one another to better build personal strength and fortitude, students enrolled in Harnessing Latent Skills will finish the term sharing their skills with their classmates in a round table-style final exam.
In preparation for your final, I suggest you all take this soul situation as an opportunity to do some good out there (hint, hint!). |

Well, I know we're in recession, but did you know that the state is cutting budgets at the expense of domestic violence shelters? Already, several shelters have had to close up shop. Help us out by sending a quick message to the governor! I promise, it's real easy. And there's plenty more information on that site. Get off your butts and see how you can get involved in any number of different ways here, on the west coast, and nationally. Personally, I'm donating all the proceeds from the sales of any Lady Justice action figures from now until March.

| Lady Justice Cares More Than You |

Just want to drop the student body a line to remind you all that if anybody runs into any metaphorical "dragons" this trimester (or any other terrible beasts of a wicked nature--lions, tigers, bears, cougars, and so on), there are plenty of options for counseling (I've heard some great things about Emputron-3000!) and lines of support. The faculty is not just here to teach you all those practical skills we know about, but we are also a support network for all you up-and-coming Heroes. And villains, of course. I won't speak for everyone on staff, but my door is always open! The nurturing instinct is an easy one for me to display, so I am naturally concerned for your well-being (especially hearing about all those tough courses some of you are taking!). I do hope you will come to me first with any problems you might have.
That said, Harnessing Latent Skills students, I just got our fieldtrip cleared! Expect more on this later in the month, but I'll hint that you're going to get to see our city at the apex of its very finest this term... |

Whew! Nothing like a little early morning excitement to get everyone back in the swing, am I right?
Just a little bitty reminder (now that this term is off to a running start!): Harnessing Latent Skills is open to all years and all faculties. It's geared toward those of you who are less experienced, or whose powers and/or abilities need a bit of fine tuning. But it's also a great refresher course for anybody else! Check out the syllabus, and don't hesitate to contact me with any questions, alright?

I realize this is a busy time for you all, the musical nearing its end (great show, you guys!!), that big old dance coming up, and finals popping up on the horizon... But starting as soon as possible, I'll be looking for a bright young thing to work as a protege an office assistance. Responsibilities will include things like helping me get my messy self organized, taking messages for me, and giving me a hand with my book (due out next spring!). I reckon this would be a good experience for any of you looking to start networking with the Band, since we take a lot of calls and emails from the big shots, and whatnot. This will also offer exposure to the publishing industry, not to mention the chance at gaining experience following me around in the professional field. You never know!
Drop your name and a brief statement about why you'd like the position right here, and we'll get the ball rolling!
